What To Bring

What To Bring To Your Appointment

!! Gathering all your tax documents ensures an accurate return and fast refund

!! You are REQUIRED to prepare all of your tax-related documents BEFORE arriving for your appointments

!! Do NOT book an appointment until AFTER you have/will be in possession all of your forms to avoid double-bookings

Required For All:

  • Government-issued photo ID (original only) for taxpayer (and spouse, if applicable):

    • Examples: Driver's License, State ID, Passport​

    • We are unable to file your return if you do not have your ORIGINAL government-issued photo ID

  • Social Security Number (original physical card) for taxpayer (and spouse and/or dependents, if applicable):

    • Taxpayers may bring an Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) to substitute for their SSN if they received one​

    • We are unable to file your return if you do not have your SSN/ITIN

  • Any tax documents you have, including but not limited to:

    • Form W-2, Wage and Tax Statement

    • Form 1098-T, Tuition Statement

    • Form 1099-INT, Interest Income

    • Form 1099-DIV, Dividend Income

    • Form 1099-MISC, Miscellaneous Income

    • Form 1099-NEC, Nonemployee Compensation

    • Form 1099-G, Certain Government Payments

    • Form 1099-B, Proceeds from Broker and Barter Exchange Transactions

    • Form 1099-R, Distributions From Pensions, Annuities, Retirement or Profit-Sharing Plans, IRAs, Insurance Contracts, etc.

    • Form SSA-1099, Social Security Benefit Statement

    • Form 1095-A/1095-B/1095-C, Health Coverage

    • Form 1095-A, Health Insurance Marketplace Statement, is required if you purchased insurance coverage through Covered California

    • Record of estimated federal and/or state tax payments

    • Documents from the IRS, the California Franchise Tax Board, or anything that says “IMPORTANT TAX DOCUMENT”

  • Proof of any expenses (ie. receipts, email confirmations, etc.), including but not limited to:

    • Qualified educational expenses (ie. textbooks, lab equipment, etc.)

    • Educator expenses (ie. classroom supplies, etc.)

    • Self-employed business expenses (ie. office expenses, repairs and maintenance, supplies, vehicle records and mileage, etc.)

    • Daycare expenses (with daycare’s EIN/SSN and amounts paid)

    • Charitable contributions

    • Medical and dental bills

  • Bank Routing and Account Number

For Students Filing As NON-RESIDENT

  • Passport and Visa

  • Completed Form 1042-S

  • Form I-20
